Project Zucchini

I am fascinated by nature.  I captured these images in my zucchini garden over the weekend.  My plan for this project is to document their growth and eventually end with images of zucchini bread or another zucchini recipe.  Stay tuned to see how it turns out.

Cucumber Salad

Here is a blast from the past.  I did this shot about 2 years ago with a photographer named Derek Richmond.  I was absolutely thrilled with the delicate slices of cucumber and loved the way the pomegranate seeds gave a punch of color.  Found this one while cleaning house on the hard drive and thought it deserved a post.

Greencrest Manor

Just got home from a beautiful location shoot at Greencrest Manor. The grounds were gorgeous which made up for the long hard days of shooting. If you get to Battle Creek, MI... check out this bed and breakfast.

International Food Styling and Photography Conference

It has taken me several days to fully digest everything I learned from the food styling conference last weekend at Boston University.  If you are currently working as a food stylist or have any interest in becoming one, this is the place to be.  It is well worth the money to be surrounded by the caliber of talent that was present at this conference.   Some of the high points for me were listening to Clare Ferguson at the "Global Style" seminar, hearing the inspiring story of Beatrice Peltre of La Tartine Gourmande, and discovering Pornchai Mittongtare.  I also had the chance to meet a lovely stylist named Mari Louis Guy and I can not wait to pick up a copy of her new book called "Cakes to Celebrate Love and Life".  She owns and operates a bakery (Cakebread) with her brother in South Africa.  Meeting and talking with so many talented people was my favorite part of this event.  Thanks to everyone responsible for this wonderfully informative conference.  It was a great way to recharge my creativity.
